We warmly welcome you to UX Pakistan 2021, an inclusive conference for design enthusiasts, tech professionals, business executives and public-sector professionals. This year our theme is ‘Designing for Next Billion Us’. This year’s theme celebrates the “US” in “USers,” the community of the next many of us in the global south, who will be contributing to the future of the technological revolution. The spotlight will be on exploring how modern designers and creatives from the Global South and the North can use different lenses for designing for people around us (our friends, families, neighbours, community members, and everyone in between). We plan to highlight a different understanding of local communities, where the focus shifts from “distant foreign users” to “us” to help solve problems and come up with more sustainable, real-world solutions.
The conference will highlight accessible and inclusive design approaches and solutions that are well-grounded in the local context. Together we will explore the approaches to design while empathising with the communities we live in. We will look into the art of creating enriching experiences by connecting technology builders and with the most important aspect of the design process: us. Lastly, we will dive into the process of learning and unlearning involved when designing for resource-constrained and rapidly changing environments.
